What sells for General US traffic? Teeth Whitening? Google Money Tree? Acai Berry? Viagra? Gambling? Porn? What would do best? Traffic is untargetted.
I have one site about teeth whitening ... Added adsense and info links in it .. So far I get less than $3 from all advertising I've placed there .. Is there anyone has a better experience .. I guess Acai Bery and Adsense theme is much better ...
Anything that is marketed really well can be profitable. Just my two cents but I would do something that you personally like... that's something that always helps me when marketing. If you're doing something just because you think it's a good niche but you don't care about it or you're not interested in it at all you might be less successful. and please don't do porn there's already so much of it out there! lol
Sex will always sell even though there's a lot of saturation issues. If the traffic is untargeted, then go with porn for sure.
The competition is huge for this. Your going to need a great marketing strategy to keep up with the big boys on the mentioned areas.

If it's a very general targetted audience you could even do something like ringtones. or Watch some TV and see what they are selling... that's probably your average audience that is being targeted so pick one of those products
I have to agree with Ferman34 "In my view Teeth Whitening and Acai Berry." in that I see so much if it. On TV, the web in general, twitter, and spam email. Oprah talked about Acai and brought it to the forefront. They must pay or it wouldn't be all over the place. I'm always getting email for Viagra and similar pharmaceuticals, male enlargement devices, Adult Friend Finder. Twitter seems to have a lot of accounts added just to get you to a porn site or adult dating and of late a lot of teeth whitening tweets. These all address what people want white teeth, loss weight, better sex and porn. If it's general traffic I'd avoid the Viagra and porn topics. Plus this being general traffic that sees these type of offers regularly I don't know that landing on just another promotion will get much ROI.
