Is technical skills like proficiency in PHP etc or marketing skills required for IM?

    I read many ebooks on how to make money online and I always struggled with creating websites like these gurus tells me to create.The Wordpress Sites which they tells me to create looks like a very spammy bloggy website and looks no good.
    Is it necessary to know some PHP,HTML&CSS skills and also server administration skills to learn how to get familiarized with creating websites that sells on the internet?

    No need to learn PHP/HTML of other programming language for the Internet Marketing.
    Try to learn Organic & inorganic SEO first. Then go for the SMO.

    I think it helps to be familiar with PHP/HTML but I don't think you need to be a guru. Most times you need to make small tweaks to themes and that is when its helpful. There are enough resources and forums online to get you going.

    To sell, you only need to learn is how to sell ;)

    Of curse, the more you learn, the more knowledge on your brain, but be aware of learning to many things at the same time. I would learn more of the same to be an expert in a field before going to the next course.

    Just run a search for Wordpress tutorials on Youtube and you'll find everything that you need. Wordpress is extremely simple to learn and even the most web-illiterate person can learn how to install a theme in no time.

    I would say a limited knowledge is essential if only just to communicate easier with any one you use to complete these services for you, other than that my best advice is find one skill that you are good at then master that,perhaps offering it as a service whilst you get going.
    I say this because I see too many people coming into this business trying to learn everything at once and achieving nothing.

    Focus on what you're good at and get a partnership to help you out in something you're not. You can learn all these things, but it takes time. You just need to get good so you can do what you do best.
