I was just looking at making a free synthasite site :)

So I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on whether or not it is a good service?

I'm in the process of building a synthasite website, and so far I've found it to be OK. It's a little restrictive and behaves rather oddly at times, such as constantly throwing up errors when I try to save and messing up my formatting.

Everything is on a drag and drop basis which I suppose is aimed at complete novices. Strangely, I find this annoying as it reminds me too much of a mac where everything is done for you to the point you feel you have no control.

However, you can edit the HTML code and insert Adsense Code for instance.

You can upload images up to 15MB but I think the uploads are unlimited.

Also, you get a suddomain but have the option of registering a top level domain with them. I've actually opted for a free .tk domain with URL forwarding and cloaking.

All in all, synthasite is not bad. They say you get what you pay for. I haven't paid a penny for this site of mine yet I have a sufficiently good service, so go for it!

Thanks, I chose to be a free sub domain, Is there any problem with being a subdomain i.e. will my site never be found on a google search?

I'm not sure. I've always heard that Google favour .com domains, so how a subdomain fares is hard to say. I also have found that synthasite is quite difficult to SEO too. I'll update this thread as and when neccessary as I progress

Yes I read that too but I have a weebly.com website which is very easy to use and I do get some traffic from links but very little from search engines but that may change as my site becomes popular I don't know.
