Wise or not, I submitted to Yahoo Dir. Took 4 attempts over 4 days after receiving same error message. Started to think it was a sign from the gods not to submit. Will report back on how it affects traffic and page rank...

I think both Yahoo.com and Business.com are worth the submissions.

Trusted authority sites giving you a valid link, has consistently shown that it's worth it.

Can anyone tell me, what % from all visitors to your website comes from yahoo when site is added to yahoo directory and when it is not? (For example i have 2 sites. 1 is in yahoo dir and gets 60% of all traffic to that site, the other is not in yahoo dir and gets me only 20% of traffic). Thanks for sharing your statistics :)

if you can't get in in the normal way, then pay for it. i have been accepted by yahoo, and am pretty much accepted in yahoo directory!
ya the link is worth it, but i suggest you to go and submit it for free and then wait, am sure they will accept it:)

It does help. Yahoo has a big search traffic. If you do a free submit, it may take very very long to be included. There is a paid review option where editors will look at your site for inclusion. But you can get indexed for SE results by good backlinks and great content.

Yeah, I think it is worth it, because it helps you get better rankings in the Yahoo! search engine. One of my sites is in the top 5 of all of my keywords because I am listed in their directory. ( The other search engines I am around the 15-30 ranks)

Site appeared in Yahoo Dir approx 3 days ago. I expected to see at least a slight increase in direct traffic, but has not happened. Now rank #1 in yahoo for 2 search terms that were buried before. Both show my site using the site description Yahoo modified after submission.....so thats got to be a direct affect....

    Bum Marketing works well.

I've got some pretty good results from article
marketing. I wouldnt say I would rely on it
but it is worth doing. You've got to make
    sure your article gets read!

    Regards,

I also think it's worth it. Google even mentions in its Webmaster Guidelines

Submit your site to relevant directories such as the Open Directory Project and Yahoo!, as well as to other industry-specific expert sites.
