With Google’s recent update back in June it now seems that Google doesn't like massive websites -- like article directories -- that contain thousands of (duplicate) articles on every topic under the sun. Like many other people, I have submitted articles to directories but now I am thinking against it. Would it be a good idea to take my submitted articles out of these directories and place them on my OWN website instead? I would be interested in your thoughts.
I always put original articles at my websites and submit their copies to directories only. Directories still drive traffic to my sites. And i'll go on to post copies of my articles there. Also they give backlinks.
I think directories still have value, but you have to choose which ones to submit to carefully. I think Google is moving away from rewarding general sites with high rankings and moving toward ranking topical niche sites higher than the major directories. I would look for small directories related to your niche and submit to those. Someone with a jewelry site might submit articles to a jewelry-specific directory or directories with topics somehow related to jewelry (gifts, weddings, etc.).
I think article marketing still have some benefits to our sites, but not powerful anymore like in the past.
Yeah I like to post the content on my websites first, wait a while (A week or two) before submitting it to any article websites, then search engines can detect that your site is the source of the content.
yes just because it wont help your ranking directly doent mean you shouldnt as you will get traffice from them and some of that traffice may like your content and link to it.
Post your content in your website first and make sure it index before submit it to article directory.
It's up to you to choose which article sites you;re going to submit you're articles, keep in mind that there are few "trusted" article sites that are worth a try
