Is submitting comments to blogs as effective if the page is PR0 but the domain PR4?

To explain more clearly, If a blog has a PR4, and i submit comments to a page within the blog with a PR0, will the backlinks created be as effective as if i had submitted a comment on the home page which had a PR4?

Does the backlink still get treated as though it is coming from a site with PR4, or does it treat it as though it has just come from a page with PR0?

    Does this make any sense?

To try to explain in more detail: I am creating quality backlinks to my site by posting comments on DoFollow blogs with a high PR. When searching through the posts on the site itself, some posts only have a PR0 within that site. When i check SeoQuake for my backlinks, they say they have come from a site with PR0 and not PR4, as the post that i commented on only had PR0. Does this mean that the backlink is not very effective?

thanks for trying to understand me

Gets treated as Pr0, but that doesn't mean it is not a good backlink, if the blog is relevant to your site, TAKE IT!

I see what you mean, so it's still worth obtaining these back links. Thanks for your help ;)

Well, it's not a PR 4 link, but it will carry some juice.

This can be seen with backlinks from EzineArticles. They can be effective for link building, but if you check these article pages they don't usually carry any PageRank.

I don't think you'll gain any PR boost, but a search engine boost should come (aided by the followed anchor text).:D

A link is a link. If your on the PR train then stick to high PR backlinks, but all that is really going to do is get you the opportunity to sell links on your high PR site.

I have a site for a heavy competition keyword. Its a PR3 site and it ranks on page one about position 6 give or take. The number 1 ranked site is PR2. PR does not directly correspond to SERP rankings. It frankly wouldn't surprise me if the whole reason Google launched the whole PR system was to distract "seo"s from traditional methods of link buildings. Maybe a small indication of the Trust Rank system... but anyway.

Take any link you can get. If its free and easy I even take no follow links. While they don't pass PR, testing indicates they still help SERPs.

One thing is for sure, what works today won't work for long.

Links are between pages, you wil get a link fom PR0 but when the home page is PR4 it can tell you that the page couls easilly get PR1 to PR3 in the future. So getting a link from that page is great.

Comments wont help you much. If you want comment on a very good blog or forum, you better go for posting on it rather than just commenting.

I doubt. Blog commenting helps a lot though

This is a useful thread. I agree to most users. A link is a link, and if you post relevant comments, you may get noticed, which may be helpful for generating traffic.

i read somewhere that goolge is now talking about unlisting the links from comment section, that ould mean there would be no effect of cooment in making a change in Search engine rankings.
