Is Submitting Articles a Waste of Time?

Huy guys and gals - can you all tell me your opinion. Is writing and submitting articles to hundreds of article directories a waste of time? I have been writng a few travel articles and submitting them to try to boost my visitors and backlinks but now seem to have got into problems with Google supplemental results even some new original content I have written for my site (and not published elsewhere) has been dumped into the supplementals. I have studied some of the people who submit hundreds of articles (top authors on the article sites) to hundreds of sites (they must use some submission software as they have tens of thousands of articles published)and I have checked the backlinks to their websites and they don't seem to have any (or at least very few), so what are all those articles achieving? I am now writing separate articles for submitting and considering only posting them on one top site so at least I get one decent link, but then of course others use the article and it becomes duplicate content once again.

 

Links from article can help, so I don't think it's a waste of time just make sure that the article directories is linking only to quality site.

 

If you are submitting the same article to thousands of article directories, I doubt it'll do much. Look at it the google way. Same article, same keywords, linking back to same site -- fishy ... google gives less or no points for this.

Instead, choose few article directories, write unique articles, change anchor texts and links, submit them. It'll definitely work ,. atleast for me it has been working .

Submitting articles is good for your website b'coz it gives you back links and visitors as well

 

it is not waste of the time, Links from article can helping.

 

You get a name when u write an article your self and submit to directories.
Your site gets a lot of backlinks
your site gets traffic
you make new friends
You get bounce in PR from that backlinks

you should used nice content so it will help to increase business as well, although you get quality back link from seo point of view.

Article submission is good and not waste of time. I am also writing articles and posting in hundreds of directories.

Some directories mentioned that others can use your article and reprint it. You can find such statement if you have ever read terms and conditions. So if you don't want others copy your article than do not submit in such directories.

I have submitted many articles and getting good backlinks. So its good to submit articles.

submitting articles to article directory can get your site indexed.

 

the myth is these directories are read by publishers who will host your article on their site. I've only ever had one link like that out of dozens of articles, as the directory links aren't worth much at all. articles still sometimes get indexed though so if i was to do it now i would target low competition long tail phrases with the anchor text. and also use an article distribution service instead of submitting them all yourself.

another way would be to find quality sites topically related to yours and offering them articles with a link back - the links will be better quality and won't fall get flagged as duplicate content.

 

I don't think it would be waste. Anyway if you can create pretty good articles why not put some of them in some article site like associated content or constant content. Maybe some one would buy your articles. who knows?

 

Articles brings you links.But i guess you should not submit your articles to 100 directories. Submitting quality articles to 10-15 top directories would bring you the required exposure(links)

 

Mass submission of the same article is i think a waste of time you will get much better results by just submitting to 2 or 3 article sites ensuring that you re-write the article each time so it is not duplicate content.
