Is subdomain the best way to go?

Just wondering,

For example my URL is www.mysite.com and i want to make a blog. What is best for SEO in your opinion to put it... should i make a sub-domain www.blog.mysite.com or just put the blog in the sub folder www.mysite.com/blog

i put my very successful ( high traffic ) blog in a simple subfolder of the domain and i would do the same again.

i see absolutely no SEO advantages for a blog in a subdomain at all.

far more important is the choice of a fully SEO'd blog SW - i use a unusual blog SW and am most happy with my choice

 

Subdomain = No backlinks, not indexed, no trust, treated as a new domain
Original Domain = Your backlinks, trust, indexed content etc

look like sub folder is the way to go

 

using sitename.com/blog is a better option because subdomains are completely new domains is the eye of search engines. using folder option will help you to rank in short time

 

The search engines will treat a subdomain as a completely new site. This means that you will have to create backlinks to your subdomain as well as your main site. I would go with domain.com/blog.
