Stripe is great! To list just a few pros: great support that was very helpful, when our team was integrating their payment system well-written documentation if you are to integrate their solution into your app\website your customers can purchase your products\services from anywhere in the world they can offer you some special deals if you are a startup owner (not a rule, but I know this may be discussed with their sales team) So far, I can say only good things about them. Highly recommend trying their services! P.S. If you're wondering, I am not a Stripe employee (just very satisfied with cooperation
I used Stripe once. I am not sure what the situation is now, but I needed in app payment setup and PayPal was not an option. I used Stripe and it worked perfectly.
We've been using Stripe in our on-line eCommerce product image file hosting product (bucketlynx.com) and we are VERY pleased with Stripe. They don't charge a monthly fee so you only pay the processing percentage. This is really nice for small volume or initial startup sites. Our product is subscription-based and integrating their webhooks payment gateway into our product was easy and gives us the full control we need to building a solid subscription-based payment system.
Anyone with a business selling online services should AVOID using Stripe, as they are NOT friendly to small ad businesses!! They've recently updated their restricted list to include typical online website services, such as selling web traffic, social media, etc, and even things like SEO, web design & hosting are now considered as "high risk", in the same category as adult and gambling. I think it's stupid, as I've been selling these services for 15 years with no issues, but Stripe definitely favors some businesses over others. If you bring in the big volume they will look the other way regarding these policies, but they will close you down if you are too small to bother with. BE AWARE!!!!
Yes, it is very difficult dealing with Stripe. I had been using PayPal for more than 10 years. People like me don't own a company and they asked me to give a Company Tax No plus a Company Registration No. Asking like that let me feel like turning me away from not using their BIG service. And tell you what, they didn't care about you & your feeling, like it or not. I try to use their service JUST because one of my hostings is going to use them. I love PayPal. Thanks
Stripe is decent. I've only ever had issues when I was selling digital stuff. Anything digital I use gumroad these days.
As a seller, Skrill is better for seller but they do not work with all kind of business so ask them if they will work with you. Can I ask why you decide move from paypal?
