Is SSL really a requirement on landing pages?

According to Google Product Search requirements:

    # Landing pages must be able to accept electronic payments and process transactions securely online (SSL-protected).
    # Landing pages should list only one item per page.

Does this mean that my site must work with https:// ? At the moment the visitor only hits a secure server when it comes to payment processing and checkout. The product pages are not secure pages. My site does not have a SSL certificate.

My understanding is that the landing page doesn't need to be SSL, but it must link to a secure cart system.

Get a $25 SSL from GoDaddy, or a free 90-day SSL from Comodo. If you are ALLOWED in Google Merchant Center, then you can upgrade the SSL.
