Is Squidoo good for building backlinks to a blog?

I am not new to SEO but I am new to Squidoo and because of this I am wondering if Squidoo is good for building backlinks to a blog.

I have several articles and I am contemplating creating a squidoo lens for each article and then linking them all to my blog.

Would this be a good strategy that Squidoo would allow?

Yes Squidoo and similar websites are great for building links to blogs or any other kind of website.

The only catch is that for it to be very effective, it is best to do some promotion of each squidoo lens. You can build links to your squidoo lens via social bookmarking, blog commenting, forum posting, etc. Simply putting up a squidoo page and leaving it won't produce the same results.

 

Squidoo is awesome.

I have not used it much myself, but when I have it has always brings in a little trickle of traffic and helps with backlink building.

Make sure the articles you use are great and use the many features available on squidoo and make it interactive and interesting for the user/visitor. Its always worked out well for me.

 

I just created http://www.squidoo.com/better-promote-with-solinkable yesterday, and its brought me a handful of UVs in that time. Not a huge amount, but good enough for me.

Squidoo is great for traffic in all ways really. Do proper tag research and you get tons of internal Squidoo traffic, then your squidoo lens gets internal backlinks from all the tag pages and your lens naturally ranks well in google.

And THEN you have a powerful backlink to your website from your lens.

I am sure that it's good for SEO but how much traffic you can get (i know it's relative but just a sample or your achievement using squidoo)?

 

it's good for linkbuilding, but mix it with other linkbuilding method

 

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but Squidoo just like youtube has "no follow" tags so using them to get backlinks is worthless.

If you dont believe me go to a squidoo lens push ctrl+u then ctrl+f and type nofollow

But posting in a good forum with a sig file works as long as you are adding valuable content and not spamming!

That's the only reason google added no follow tags to youtube and why they slapped squidoo and forced them to add nofollow was because of spammers who just wanted backlinks

also writing simple 300 word articles and submitting to ezine articles and go articles is probably one of the best ways to get authoritative backlinks

I believe you may be incorrect on this. Your lenses have to meet a certain criteria and then they turn "do follow". I just checked some of mine and the links are all "do follow".

When you are in Squidoo Dashboard and there is a green check by your lens that means your links are now "do follow".

I made a whack of lenses a while ago and I go back and update them once in a while. Just another link building technique. Not a quick fix by any means though.

I have 20 odd squidoo lens, that are good for a bit of traffic and some weak backlinks. THey are worth it if you can create a few of them.

 

Im using squidoo as TRAFFIC DRIVING portal rather than LINK SOURCE.

 

Yeah, I also use Squidoo as a traffic driver, but at the same time I enjoy the links it brings me. The trick is to be able to do both sucsessfully

 

OK so how are you two driving traffic to your lenses?

 

Just a few Squidoo backlinks won't make you rank in top 5 for "buy viagra".
However Squidoo is a nice way to get some related backlinks and drive some targeted traffic to your site.
Some Squidoo pages rank pretty well in Google, it's all about choosing the right keywords

squidoo is a great tool for building backlinks. you can publish an unique relevant article and link back to your site. depending on the quality of your lens and how you promote it, you might get some internal traffic and earn from adsense as well as from affiliate programs as well. there are some giant squids who have hundred+ lens each and some are making full time living on squidoo
