I use a few different tools for my work for competitor research and was a fan of SpyFu, but i'm starting to think its maybe a load of nonsense...

i ran a report on a few of my sites, and it told me loads of stuff about a pay per click campaign that i'm running...i'm not running one though....

has anyone used the program? what do you reckon? am i wasting my money?

Remember, it has a small database that only gets updated once a month. On smaller sites it is pretty bad, but on larger ones it is pretty good.

If you do not like it you can try:

    Keyword Spy
    The Search Monitor

    Good luck!

I've gotten really inaccurate results on there. So much so that I gave up and just plan on having my own tool made.

Once you build this tool I would be interested in getting a subscription if you offer it. Please keep me posted.

SpyFu is great in explaining to clients why PPC may be more expensive. Of course it is very approximate but it has helped me on several occasions to upsell clients who wanted to spend $10 a month on PPC ;-p

I personally don't think you are wasting your money and just wish there were more competitor analysis tools out there.
