I have been checking my stats today and one of my sites has had a extremly high ctr rate which is unussual. I ain't clicking the ads myself. could it be someone trying to get me banned? how do I stop them?
Google should be able to tell it's not you if the IP, computer, etc are different from yours. They will simply $0 the clicks. But you can email them if you want to. They still may not believe you however.
As many others said, write Google an email. But dont do that if the site has 20 pageviews and 15 clicks. For so few visitors sometimes the ctr are very high just by coincident.
it is very possible to get banned from google. if the guy knows what to do you can be banned. Actualy is very easy to ban other users account.
not realy from my experience. a frined of mine was banned in this way and google doesn't belive it. It very easy to change the ip. if you can change your ip then all is very simple. just a few clicks and you can ban your enemy account
I wouldn't worry about it too much until the end of the day. A lot of times you can start out with a pretty high CTR early on in the day because one of your visitors clicks a few ads, so it makes it look like a pretty high CTR, but over time during the day, it evens out to a normal rate. If it's still high near the end of the day though, probably worth a quick email to the G.
