I've been using CF since version 1.5 and still use it daily. The syntax is very quick to write code with. The cost of getting CF vs the time saving in writing code faster MORE than offsets the initial expense. I like php/wordpress for most of my clients, but for more complex projects, CF is so much easier to work with that it's hard to justify using php.

CF is an Adobe enterprise class product so it's going to be around for a while imo.

i do not know why people start conversations "Is ColdFusion Dead"

It is in its version 10 and ORM is already Support.

Raise your hands if someone says PHP Supports ORM as like CF.

Our company has been actively developing web based software solutions using ColdFusion for over 12 years now and is still going strong. There are certainly no signs of ColdFusion dying here, far from it. We are in fact actively looking for ColdFusion developers so if you are in the Midlands (UK) area let me know! Sorry for the plug but I wanted to make the point that it is alive and well.

We've been using Cold Fusion since 2002, and it is by far the easiest language to learn. It is very scalable. Yes, it is expensive, however, you get more with it as opposed to "free" software. We are a Cold Fusion marketing company and host everything we create. Take a look at our website (www.xenermedia.com). Oh ya, AT&T, Bank of America and eBay all use Cold Fusion. It is certainly not a dead language.

The CF server isn't free, and it's not available on most hosts. PHP is available and free.
