My Analytics and AdSense stats have a huge difference between each other, AdSense shows 2900 impressions (for link unit which is on every page on the site) and Analytics show 4300 impressions. I have already added this javascript: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"><!-- if (top.location != location) { top.location.href = document.location.href; } --></script> HTML: but it didn't help. Where are my impressions?
There's no one would "steal" your impressions. The stats between Adsense and another monitoring software is different cause they have their own technology for tracking the impressions.
Ironically I have the opposite problem - Adsense is reporting like double the page impressions Analytics is.
that might be because you have two block sof adsense ads on the one page. Therefore in your stats 2 impressions would actually be 1 page view. 1 impression for each ad block on the page. cheers
it isn't important that your impression will be stolen by whom however , if someone steal your "click" , they sucks !
Sadly, the only way to know your stats are correct would probably be to write your own software to review the log files.. and even then you might not know for sure! ;-) Don't worry too much about the actual differences as long as they are consistently different...
+1, some users use ad blocking software.... if they had no javascript analytics probably wouldn't track them....
adsense doesnt count the click from the same ip u have registered whereas analytics does, so there would be the difference. And regarding somebody steal ur impression call 911 immediately, hehe
No, I mean the total impressions given by Adsense. The weird thing is that when I tally the total impressions according to channel, the sum accords very nicely with my Analytics figures. It's just the total number of page impressions reported by Adsense that's off.
The only way I can see someone artificially raising your impressions is if they scraped your site and are working on the content they scraped. In some cases, I have had people grab content and leave the adsense code on the page! These are usually easy to track down, because they also include the links inside the content as well (provided it's an absolute url). Your log files can tell you a lot of information about whats going on.
