I used free Wordtracker and doubt some keyword searches amount is strange. For example, "writing" -- the most search term is "writing formal invitation letter" -- keyword is show 2031 searches. This long tail keyword have more searches than "writing" -- only one word(have 1344 searches). This is fake number, isn't it?
wordtracker is unreliable and doesn't use data from google or any other popular search engines. The short answer is that anything you search on there will be unreliable.
fadetoblack22 -Thank you very much. So, Wordtracker is a lame tool? Because of these strange phenomena, I preferred Google keyword tools. Is there other reliable keyword tools?
Well you said it yourself. Google keyword tools. I'm guessing you are optimizing for google then you should not need any other keyword tool than theirs which uses their data for their searches.
I don't know that Wordtracker is lame, or work. It's only my guess that Wordtracker is lame because if data was unreliable, the result should not be useful ( or maybe useful when used by some methods). I am curious that why many people suggest to use Wordtracker as a keyword tool.
I have no idea why people suggest it. I'm just saying that I never use it because it doesn't provide data on the search engine I want to rank in -google.
Wordtracker like said before doesn't provide datat straight from Google search engine or any other search engine for that matter. Instead Wordtracker takes their data from the metacrawlers which they quote "ne of the purest sources of search behaviour by real people." However they do provide a lot of anomolies such as the one you noticed above. This is probably a misrepresentation because although there are more and more people beginning to become more specific with their searches and instead of typing just "writing" may type "writing for newspapers" or something else the vast majority are still typing the one word search queries. I do recommend Google Keyword Tool as a free tool however it is best to use a variety of tools such as Google's Wordtrackers, Wordze and perhaps purchasing a software to such as micro niche tool or keyword elite. Hope this helps.
