is social bookmarking effective???

    i cant seem to get really good traffic from them, do you have to use them lots to generate a decent amount of traffic, or is about how you use them?

    social book marking is good to get traffic and back links, so its effective. But you have to find good site to do the work.

    Well honey, I am pretty surprised after starting this thread, you have never come back to reply in this thread nor have you given your opinion. I am sure you are not doing such kind of stuff in the social bookmarking sites :D lol !!!!

    After you bookmark or post your article or page of the site/blog to any bookmarking site, it is not over, my friend. You have to go back again to the site and do some cross bookmarking as well as make a genuine group of friends on each sites. This will help you to get traffic in a long run. None of the social bookmarking sites deliver you traffic quickly. It atleast takes 4-6 months to generate healthy traffic from bookmarking sites. You have to make your account 'social' in these sites to get more and more traffic. For example you have to be a regular commentator for the bookmarks posted by your friends. Like, vote, digg and stumble all the bookmarks which are there on those sites in your niche, ONLY then you will be noticed and your bookmarks ;)

    I mainly use social bookmarking for back linking purposes as apposed to referrall traffic. The beauty of social bookmarking is that you can direct social bookmarking links to the internal pages of the website as apposed to most directory submissions which can only be directed to the root directory. The stronger you make and overall domain the better performance you see in the SERPs and the less chance you have of getting penalised for an unnatural looking link building campaign.
