IS SMO much better then SEO in 2013?

Why choose one over the other if you can do both?
Actually, both works well together, but both works well also on their own uniqueness depending on how you make it work.
Based on my experience since I used both, SMO is designed for the mass audience that's why it is better to use social media to get traffic. On the other hand, SEO is more on targeted audience, where people search for keywords that will only return relevant sites. Both are use or can be usea for marketing but they offer different services.

 

Ofcourse SEO is better but SMO gives you instant traffic plus that visitors who are not going to make google search for your keyword so to get new traffic SMO is good and you must do SEO also because SMO send traffic until you are active and keep posting. So both terms are important now days.

 

I think SEO is best think to do , because this well rank your page by google. This my idea.

Yea, it gives faster results. But, a good/established website should have traffic coming in from both sources. As well as direct and referral traffic as well.

I think you can say that SMO has become quite important within the last 2 years. If it's more important than SEO currently, I personally think not but if algorithms keep changing like this it can happen for sure.

One is not better than the other, it's purely personal opinion. However, for a business SEO is one of the necessary aspects at least the on page part. For SMO, you can decide on it depending on the type of business you have. Also, which social platform you should use depends on the business as well. SEO helps you rank well, SMO can generate leads/ helps in brand awareness. They should not be compared or considered better than one another.
