    it's technically temporary
but it's very hard to get out of it

you need your visitors to buy stuff from the sites they click when you get smart priced
or you need the visitors to bookmark it and actually use it

so the value of a click from your site is good, and the advertiser doesn't get a discount because they are getting high quality traffic

This is one thing that i fail to understand. Since we have no control over our visitors and their clicks, why are we penalized ?

Come to think of it, we must all be smartpriced. Or smartprice does't exist.

If you want to fast get out of being smart priced just remove adsense code from this bad site (which cause everything) and everything will get back to normal.

Remove adsense from sites where daily CTR is less than 2.0%. It worked for me.

    although it might work
    it isnt about the CTR
it's all about the quality of your clicks

block visitors from countries other than uk/usa/au/canada

    and some more rich countries

make your ads less "invalid clicky" or whatever if you get me? (will prob lower the CTR, but eliminating invalid clicks means the clicks are actually quality, and worth the price the advertisers wann apay)

and I'm sure theres loads more things to do. but goodluck getting un-smartpriced :)

It is not permanent but I have not yet come out of it.Maybe removing link units which get useless clicks can help.

One of my sites used to be smartpriced, but then I moved the content around, added more content and made new channels / new ad placements.

Jumped from 0.0-0.1 to 0.10-0-30 per click. So its for sure possible to get outa the smartpricing box

My site is 70% repeat daily visitors, so my CTR suffers.

I haven't been able to get out of being smart priced for a while now. I really don't think I ever will either.

Oh, well. Being smart priced was what forced me to look into other options, and now I'm getting paid more than I ever have from Adsense alone.

Does smart pricing affect your account? Or individual sites?

From what i've heard, smartpricing affects a whole account. So if you have 10 sites and you get smartpriced, all 10 sites will be affected. Therefore you should provide more quality clicks.

Even if you do not have control over your visitors, you can still make it so that when the ads are clicked, they are clicked because the visitors wanted to click them. I suppose even if a visitor does not buy or complete an action on the advertiser's site but stays for a while on that site, it will not get you smartpriced. However if people click and then hit the back button instantly, it will affect your adsense account.
