I get about 4 hours a day of sleep. I am very active and i am sharp until i decide to wind down. The eight hour rule is way off.

Sleep is the best part of the day, especially getting into bed and snugging up!!

8 hours rule is for those who cannot get the quality. You can work continuously with minimal sleep if you give yourself 20-30 mins deep sleep breaks in between.

No it is not. I get very cranky if I don't have enough and can't function properly.

If i get less then 6 hours sleep i'm usually a bit moody and snappy. Though, if i get about 8 - 9 hours, i feel great all day.

Your body is your best judge of how much you need to sleep!
If you remain physically very active through out the day, your body would be very tired and would obviously make you sleep more and well! :)

You'll start to see the effects of insufficient sleep in the long run.

It will manifest in some form or the other.

yes. My family doctor told me that. I would always get 4-5 hours and i started feeling drowsy certain times during the day. Spoke to my doctor and he told me the same thing. The min is 7 hours. Your body should be able to function properly after that

Not it not overrated. Get at least 7 hours of sleep every day. If you skip sleep all the time then this also leads to increase in health problems.
