Is sitemap is necessary?

I think sitemaps are pretty important. I remember reading so much about them, I finally added one. I’m hoping it helps.

The answer to what you are asking depends largely on what kind of website you have. If you are talking about a minisite with only a few pages then I would suggest that you don't submit a sitemap as it would have little or no effect. A sitemap is important if you have a very large website with too many pages and in this case it could help Google to index it quicker. I don't think that PR is important.

 

It's not necessary but it is useful I like them especially when I ad new pages or update pages I can add them to the sitemap then submit it.
It makes me feel like they will get crawled faster if they really are I'm not 100% sure but it is a good practice.

 

Sitemap helps SEs to index you site. If you do not want to be good indexed by bots, do not create sitemap.

 

possible, i'm doing something wrong, but i'm added sitemap 2 days ago (at site and google webmaster) and haven't any advantage at indexing my site. maybe i do something wrong ?

 

Thanks for your useful reply i also want to know either i have to resubmit site map? 2nd my site is already index by resubmitting it may happen that Google push my site in queue that may effect PR.

i once heard that if you build your site correctly than you dont need sitemap because google can crawl easly each and every page you have.
