Is Service Provider (not set) a good sign of bot traffic?

I've been receiving a lot of dubious direct traffic to one very minor article on my site for days now. The only thing that ties it all together is that well over 90% of it has Service Provider (not set) as a value. Is this a valid reason to mark it as spam views? If so, what's the best solution to fix it without potentially ignoring valid hits?

Edit: Just to be clear, this direct traffic also has very high bounce and new user rates, which is what concerned me in the first place.
