Just wondering, I know if you can get first page on Google hell ya but is it really needed, if not what else can you do to advertise (besides myspace, link exchange). Thanks Also - what is sandboxing? lol
yes, search engines provide the highest level of quality in terms of traffic. it's extremely stable if you know what you are doing and being #1 or anywhere on the first page for the best terms can be really profitable.
The is no other traffic like SE traffic for proxies. I have a proxy that ranks on the second page of google for a popular term and the proxy is 90% US traffic. I wouldnt even suggest going for #1 on google or the first page even, people know the first page is most likely banned and just skip to the second or third.
not sure what term you are talking about here, but the extra traffic from just being on page 1 for any high traffic keyword would outweigh being listed on a few filters.
I don't think so, not for run of the mill proxy sites. And considering the immense competition & thousands of proxy sites trying to rank on the first page, the payoff isn't worth the effort. But it never hurts to use onpage seo best practices to get traffic from searches for fringe keywords
it is needed, but you have to do some other things, such write some articles on proxy, get some useful outer links, and regiter your sites to the high pr directories.
how can you be so sure that the payoff isn't worth it? i would say that 90% of all proxy owners have no idea what they are doing. They just throw up a proxy script, submit to topsites, directories, and proxy.org and expect it to flourish. meanwhile, the rest of us have the SE traffic all to ourselves.
http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/?keywords=proxy&country=us The effort it would take to get there is grossly disproportional to the revenue it'll generate considering the thousands of proxy sites competing to rank well. Just a glimpse at the kind of competition... http://www.google.com/search?q=myspace+proxy&hl=en&start=490&sa=N Page 50 for "myspace proxy" Word of mouth, advertising on forums that have a suitable audience are better ways to promote a proxy...IMO.
you're talking to the person who is #1 for myspace proxy... it didn't take much work, or very long at all...
