i have an offer for a domain for 250$, but sedo will take 50$ so i only get 250$ 20% commission is a damn lot!?
If the domain was parked there and a major extension, they'd only take 10%. But realistically, without Sedo you wouldn't have a sale at all, so I can't help but feel that 20%+ is completely fair. Besides, as you get into higher prices, the commission decreases. $250 sales just aren't worth the time and/or energy usually.
i sold one for 10%. i 've got 450 out of a 500 sales, so that's a 10% I remember they have a minimun commission of 50 dollar a while a ago, but seem like it is no longer there. I received a $90 offer and the sedo fee is $8 dollar.. and i believe they can raise the commission if name is register with a small foreign domain name company that take a lot of time/ paperwork to get the name transfer
Y'know... if you don't believe me, you could always do some primary research yourself. It's not like they hide the fees on some "hidden" page that only left handed people have access to or something... http://www.sedo.com/services/prices.php3
Indeed, $50 is the minimum, 10% applies after certain amount I need to verify The problem is not take the offer or pay such a huge commision, but the really bad negotiators they are. May take months before the close the deal between you and the counterpart... if they do it some day
Full details at the link I posted above, but the $50 minimum is waived if the domain is parked at Sedo. Since the smallest offer they accept is $60, then $6 is actually the minimum commission, but that's not a sale that even meets variable cost of time/etc., so why bother?
