Hello, im thinking to apply for SBI GOLD VISA DEBIT CARD, as i saw some threads abt it, my question is, can anyone confirm that i can verify my paypal using this card? thank you
Indian debit cards usually did not work for verification of Paypal but this one being a VISA affiliated, should work...I guess! Perhaps you need to take the lead and give it a try yourself....for rest of us to know! Regards, RightMan
As far as my own experience none of indian debit card works to verify indian paypal account as we need only valid CC to verify our indian paypal account though you can give it a try as there is no any harm in doing that. DON.
I also think there are very less chances of acceptance of Indian Debit cards for verification but I thought it was the first time a bank was issuing a debit card with Visa affiliation and so it could be different...this time! Regards, RightMan
Check this post http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11773287&postcount=38 The guy succesfully verified paypal using a SBI Debit Card
Thanks coderpundit for suggesting my url. Yes we can verify paypal using SBI Gold International Debit Cards (Visa / Mastercard) or by SBI Yuva Card (Visa). http://paypal.statebank.org.in Regards, Vivek Godgift J Customer Relations Associate State Bank of India
Thanks for the information.....mate. Can you please elaborate as to what is so unique/special about SBI debit card that paypal has chosen to accept verification only through it and no other debit cards of any other Indian banks? Regards, RightMan
hey, thanks for info n support, my doubt is, if at all paypal limits my acc and asks for statement, then whats the case if i use SBI card. And also RightMan rightly asked, why paypal is so picky abt SBI Debit cards, when HDFC, ICICI, Axis etc also provide VISA international Debit cards?? im confused.. Regards
As given in the link are the details of the card, as I work in SBI and I have verified my two accounts(One Personal & One Business) with these type of cards, I have offered to help others who were in search. Well honestly I dont know what is special, but maybe that the cards are all international debit cards, thats all. I have not had any limitation problems for the past one year(in both of my accounts) till now, in case you have you can send any proof like bank statement, anything that supports your name, if not you can even scan the card and send. Remember to remove CVV and then send. Regards, Vivek Godgift J Customer Relations Associate
Your comments would be music to ears to lot of Indian students who are struggling to get their paypal accounts verified simply because they are not able to get a CC in their name on their own. Thanks for the input....mate. Hopefully, people would be able to complete the verification and you would stay around, if they face any problem in doing so, with SBI Debit card. Regards, RightMan
none of the Indian Bank's International Debit Cards are accepted at paypal,,, instead you can verify paypal by opening acct at HDFC bank and then using its netsafe credit cards which can be used to verify paypal
^^^^^You could have used these cards before Dec 2009. Now not a single debit card is supported anymore thanks to RBI.
