Is Russell Crowe the best actor ever?

    Recently I've watched A beautiful Day (2001 for the second time and realized that Russel Crowe is simply awesome and his acting in that movie plus in Gladiator are unmatchable. So I think he's the greatest actor we'll ever see. What do you think??

    Russel Crowe is a good actor.. no doubht in that.. but best ever? cant be sure. I would vote for Al pacino. Deniro would also come close.

    but even when not considering his other movies, Gladiator and A beautiful day...aren't they the best??? In the likes of A good year, American gangster, State of Play, and the latest The next three days makes him impressive and drags upto the top. The best feeling I get when watching him acting is that he makes us feel this is not a movie! but the reality!!!! :)

    He's great, but he is also his own biggest fan, and throws a hissy fit when he doesn't get a nod for his work. I think Daniel Day Lewis is better.

    C'mon guys I was referring to recent actors, not like who were in 1930's, May be he got the best movies to play. anyhow how do you rank his performance in Gladiator? to me it was inspirational. The next place in my list goes to Leonardo Dicaprio. :)

    I also like Leonardo Dicaprio. He may not be the #1 best actor, but I like every single movie he has starred in. Inception, Shutter Island, etc
