Is Rising Rupee against Dollars Hurting Indian Adsense Earners in DP!

It certain is hurting me :D.
I have stopped the payment for sometime. But it is still rising.

But again some people are saying that it might even come to 37 rupee for a Dollar.

But the best thing is, I am increasing my spending in dollars. Buying professional designs, Links and even domains have become very cheap.

Have you started to feel the pinch yet?

you are pretty late to find out this, most of us have already discussed this for some time. i used to get 47 INR per $, but then now it's under 40! and not only adsense, paypal checks other affiliate checks etc, all are down!!

yes it could go below 35 aswell, but then there is no way, just to ignore it! it is hurting the exports also, and this is the reason why RBI is trying to control it!:)

Well it not hurt only Adsense earner or other online earner but it also not good for Indian exporters too. Also Rupees going stronger and stronger at the time. RBI should took some action to control the rate.

RBI is already doing a little buying. There is a limit to how much RBI can support the Dollar.

Many analysts believe the Dollar will fall below 40 in June.

There are two big stock market issues coming up in June - one by DLF and another by ICICI.

Both would attract billions of Dollars .. this will further strengthen the Rupee against the Dollar.

It is better to convert dollars to rupees as soon as you can. At most one can hope for 41.5 or 42.

Yes this will bring more dollers because of high Profile market Issues.

RBI doing good job but they have to take some more steps to make Rs around 41 Rs.

Wow Sachin, What a great knowledge you have. But I think 41.5 or 42 is a great deal. Such offer is rare now.
You can also try to spent $$ in form of online cash. It will be a better bargain.
We are planning to have a party. you are invited. :D

I am trying my best to do it. Currently I am making all my payments by Paypal and avoiding the CC route.

I have also asked friends to allow me to make their $ payments. I just take an equivalent amount in cash from them.

I give them 20-30 paise off the current rate..that's it.

Mostly people like web designers would agree to such transactions.

If they pay by CC, they would have to pay 3.5% or so foreign exchange fees.

They have regular expenses like hosting and domain names, but unlike webmasters, they don't have many dollar pay-ins.

For example, one of my web designer friend gets all her overseas payments by bank transfers, so she prefers to avoid converting her balance back to dollar.

I make her dollar payments and she transfers INR to my bank account. :).

USD has also been decreasing in value in my country. It's not a good thing for people like me who earns in USD. :(

agree with you! usd is falling against every currency! and the pound is almost twice now!

RBI can do a little to stop the fall of USD against the indian rupees! RBI dosen't have much control, paypal is already paying at rates below 40!!

I have already started buying! let it fall further, then i will buy a lot more stuffs online:D

It is definitely the INR that is gaining.

I looked at data of USD against Euro, Yen, INR and GBP for this year.

    This is what I found:

    Value of 1 dollar:

    Against Euro
    1/1/2007 0.76
    29/5/2007 0.746
    Loss of 1.84%

    Against Yen
    1/1/2007 119.05
    29/5/2007 121.63
    Gain of 2.16%

    Against GBP
    1/1/2007 0.51
    29/5/2007 0.505
    Loss of 0.98%

    Against INR
    1/1/2007 44.11
    29/5/2007 40.19
    Loss of 8.88%

Yup...actually Canada situation is almost as bad as Indian, if we consider this calender year.

    Jan 1 2007 CAD = 1.165 USD
    May 29 2007 CAD = 1.073 USD
    Loss of 7.9%
