I said for newbies... Most of people in this thread wouldn't be considered that. Statements have been made that this info is freely available via forums (thus proving my point that people on this thread are NOT newbies). TRUE.. but the thing is for someone that is starting out they have to put in a LOT of time wading through the b.s. to get the info that is in that book.. It's a time vs money thing. If $10.00 is worth days of starting out and learning then go ahead and don't get it. For everyone posting here on this thread I would say DON'T buy it. Just saying it is a good introduction to IM.
Well, everyone has a right to their own opinion, I just happen not to agree with yours, especially by passing this crap onto unsuspecting people new to the Internet. IMHO there are much better products that can be had for $10. So we agree to disagree and that is fine.
The Rich Jerk e-book for me taught me a lot of good marketing concepts. It gives you the basic ideas of how to make money online. It give syou one strategy you can use by making review sites. This is a good strategy and you can no doubt make money if you take action on it. But the main purpose of the Rich Jerk e-Book, is so he can try to sell you on his high end coaching course which is a few thousand dollars. I had a sales rep call me a few days later after i purchased it, to try to get me to pay up for the coaching course. But all in all it is a very good book for the beginner marketer. After you read it, i guarantee you will have some new ideas. Jani
I personally find the whole idea obnoxious and I seriously doubt he has made as much as he claims however even after years of it being on the market he is still creating a stir .. bravo to him for that.
When he says he makes that kind of money, and he calls himself something like a marketing expert, and, he says he gets a lot of traffic, he and others like him are considered a fraud. Plain and simple. lol there was no sales rep. It was him.
I've read his ebook. He's got some great ideas in it but it's all aimed at people who are desperate for money. It's basically just another get rich quick scam. If you want to see something interesting go to quantcast.com and look up therichjerk.com. Ther results will shock you.....
those strategies are only words.. did you get a benefit from this ebook. I mean what's that successful revenue method.
He's a marketing genius, but his e-book offers nothing new (I'm sure it's just like every other book out there).
its not a scam but there are MUCH better services out there to teach you how to make the big bucks. PPC-Coach is a great example. Once people join there, VERY VERY few ever quit. There are tons of success stories.
Marketing Genius? No. He was a diligent student of following the great copy writers and salesmen of the past. Create controversy and no matter how bad the product is it will sell. We are selling his mediocre e-book for him right now by continuing with the controversy. As such, enough has been hashed and rehashed and enough is enough.
Pretty much everyone that wants to make money online has heard of The Rich Jerk. Right now, he's being discussed on a forum and I'm sure topics like this have popped up quite a few other times. Even though his ebook is obviously a generic piece of crap, he's done well to market it.
Actually, KonaGirl, we are helping out the oens who have a brain. They can see that he is not all that afterall. We have saved them from wasting their money. For the ones who are stupid enough to still buy, they deserve to be ripped off. Sure many (not all) of us have heard of him. So what? He also has ads out there which many have seen. Yeah, and? And he is being disucussed on a message board. Yeah, and? That is your definition of someone being successful? Those are your examples? That's it? Well, ok, then. I wouldn't say "he's done well to market it" when it has been pointed out that he doesn't get that much traffic, and, he has a dead blog, amongst other things about him, like insulting people (You do not get a whole lot of sales by doing this. duh.), in addition to others who have called him out. When it comes to "done well to market it," I myself would rather go for positive marketing, rather than negative like what is read here, and on other boards about this clown.
I'm guessing he makes money out of it. That's more than plenty of people do. Again, I'm not saying he's a cool guy nor that I admire him nor that I think he has valuable information to pass on. It's just that his strategy of being an asshole has worked for him (no matter how much I love positive marketing myself). You can't deny that.
I bet this forum post is generating a lot of traffic & revenue for the rich jerk... Good or bad topics = lots of traffic = extra income.... Can't someone start a thread like this for my website? HAHA
If he was getting positive traffic to his site and to his blog, I would agree that it has worked for him. But it has not. It may seem like it is, but just because we hear a lot of talk about a person, about anyone, or we see his ads all over the place (a monkey can put in an ad) does not necessarily mean anything. He has steped up his advertisng a couple of months back, if not longer, and he still can't make it work. Sorry to go on like this, but I destest frauds like him, epsecially when some good people every now and then fall for all of the hype, and then land up wasting their money on "gurus" who don't even have that much traffic themselves. Typical noob thinking, which is why so many don't make it out there either. Um, it's kinda hard to sell a product to a not-so-trusting crowd, epsecially when many don't like such a webmaster. Is it time to shoot this thread dead?
Looking at his site, it looks like he is doing the same thing that I am doing, he is sponsoring people's websites.
