Is reddit broken?

    ...or am I an idiot?

I've been trying to figure the site out for a few days in my spare time, and it seems like a lot of things don't work right, and give 404 errors and stuff. Also I had submitted an article about David Bowie, and was curious to see other articles. I typed 'David Bowie' in the search box, nothing! It said "there are no results here". So I typed in 'beatles', same response. You'd think there was at least one article on reddit about the Beatles! Am I missing something, or is it not working correctly?

I posted some original articles from my site on there, and did get a few hundred visitors, then a sarcastic comment from someone complaining that I was just adding pages from my site. Is that not what it's for? I replied, but my comment was instantly deleted. So no help there.

Anyway the FAQ doesn't help me, and I can't seem to navigate around the place very easily. (Like the pages change at random and I can't find the stories I wanted to click). I post stuff up and down but don't get any recommendations, which seems to be the point.

Also, when I post a comment it just says "Comment deleted." Why?? I can't find any explanation of it on the site or even on Google.

What's the deal with karma? Is all this worth my time? I like the traffic, even though they don't buy anything, at least they're enjoying the articles and maybe spreading the word.

I'll try to remove the block in my brain that prevents me from understanding social bookmarking sites, but until then help me out! Is this even worth it for a webmaster?
