Is Reciprocal Linking Dead?

Have the search engine algorithms discounted the value of reciprocal links to oblivion? Is it worth the effort anymore?? What's your take

Not totally die, It is now considered on very less...Now a days three way linking is popular and gets some results too.

 

It's not totally dead. Still works, just not as well. The same with anything that gets overused.

 

It does still work, but few quality websites exchange links anymore. That means that you have to dig through hundreds or thousands of low quality websites to find a good link exchange. Spam seo companies have jumped all over the link exchange strategy. So you typically get 95% of your link exchange request e-mails from junk websites marketed by such companies. In the end, it just isn't worth the effort anymore.

 

Reciprocal links with related web sites is still a viable strategy as a part of your overall link building efforts. However, I wouldn't exchange links with any site that isn't very related to my own. Look for sites that are a sub niche of your own or where your site is a sub niche of theirs. You'll often get a good reception from those types of sites...and the links pay off with higher search engine rankings.

 

From what I read it's not working well anymore, google does not want artificial backlinks.

 

Reciprocal linking has been depreciated by google, however, it still works to a
certain extent but it's not as effective as one way links.

 

I think Reciprocal is not dead but is not good when you link building..better one way link

 

reciprocal linking has not gone totally its still a very good way of building links but be sure to reciprocate with a relevant and quality site..

 

I agree with masood...link to relevant and quality sites...however this takes time

 

yes it will take time but eventually give u good results.

 

Its is not die, now way days 3 way link building are using. it is helps boost your ranking.

 

3 way linking is not reciprocal linking.

Reciprocal linking can still be effective if done right.

 

it's not true that Reciprocal linking dead , but almost linking are with one-way and three way going on.i think if you can make right Reciprocally linking then it's live and usfull to your website.still Search engine has been consider Reciprocal linking but it will be done manualy.
