just curious, could link-exchanging get a website banned from google? Or will google simply not give credit to the link?
I think it's okay if you do it in small amounts, like if you exchange links with one or two sites. But I wouldn't do it in bulk. Kyle
I dont understand the concept of creating 'Reciprocal' links. I dont care what google says is right, to me, if someone links to you and you link back its is an obvious exchange. If www.somesiteinevermetbefore.com links to me then it would be organic. + not to mention the less outgoing links you have the more pr gets pased to your internal links...? maybe? im prob wrong, but I have oodles of incoming links and 0 outgoing links and it works fine for me.
Your site won't get hurt as long as you're not linking to bad neighborhood. Better if you would only link to related site.
If you are building links to try to increase your search rankings, reciprocal links don't help much. One way links (either true one way links or through a 3 - or 4- way network) will be much more beneficial. That said, a real benefit of reciprocal links is the human traffic you'll get if you do reciprocals with related sites that are high quality.
Nope... Google will not ban a site in doing link exchange, but offcourse exchange links with quality sites. It will boost your PR.
Google has never banned for reciprical exchange But do it only with relevant sites for targeted TRAFFIC. Probably that exchange will not give You so many SERP power but traffic !!
Wrong...there was big shake up in the real estate world about recips a few months back. Several people got a 60 day penalty.
I would say that penalty was for excessive reciprocal linking. A few relevant on topic ones is fine - but only in the context of benefiting your Visitor Please avoid having cheesy "Links", "Resources" or "Partners" pages - instead weave any such links naturally into your content
No as long your just trading to related and quality sites only Just avoid excessive linking as google was sick of this one
this cheats the G pr system, like does to purchase/sell links. maybe G are doing/will do something against this also.
I don't believe reciprocal links are helping these days at all. I prefer buying, getting links from articles and I enjoy a pretty good amount of natural links. Guess you wont get banned, but doubt there would be some great positive effect.
i think it will not be reason for google ban but i think it will not help your serp . in my opinion, google is ignoring the link exchange
yeah, i agree with this pretty much. recips matter less and less with google these days. still a major factor at yahoo and live tho.
When it comes to google using reciprocating links might not be such a good idea better go for backlinks and links that require no reroute
