Some of my articles rank 1st page in qotation for longtail words but hardly get visitors. Is this kind of search common? What's your experience?

If you look at your stats, the answer is probably no. I can firmly say no on my part, but I guess it could depend on your niche. If your audience is savvy you may get some traffic. most searchers are clueless though

Personally I have never used "" in my searches. I am a big user of Google so I don't think the average users use quotes.

95% of the internet probably don't even use quotation's for punctuation, let alone anything more sophisticated than that, such as narrowing searches.

I have recently found out what "" is and how to use it. Having talked to my friends no-one even knew that they could use "". I guess it answers your question.

Thank you guys for your opinion. I can understand that it is not common. So I have to ignore ranking for qotation keyword search.

you you searching for particular exact phrase, then you most likely will be using quotation. But majority not using it as they want to get as much as possible results matching search criteria.

Not many users use quotations to search but I see the trend is picking up as more and more searchers get educated by their surrounding peers etc.

People revert to using quotations only after not getting good result for their search without it!
Hence...the percentage of people using quote would be very very low... also because not many people are even aware of it... I guess! :(

IMO, only power users know about using quotes. So I would not get too excited if you rank for a phrase using them. But keep at it. . . keep working...
