Hello, From th reading ive done so far, its seems that one of many good approaches to good seo is by having regular updated content on your website. My website will be online remote pc repair so im not sure what would be effective. I dont want to put unrelated info there and in the beginning i will be bogged down with work as it is so i wont have enough time to properly maintain a blog or similar article. I have 2 ideas but the first is probably not the best option: 1) To write regular articles on how to fix simple problems. CONS: The problem with this is my lack of time to write these articles and also i worry that some people who have stumbled across my site with the intention of getting me to remote fix their pc, start searching through the articles and find a solution. Also how much easy fix content can i write without running out of content and then i would have to start writing more complicated fixes and possibly turning the site into a free fix resource instead of remote troubleshooting website. Is 1-2 articles a week enought to make a difference on the search engines or to generate return customers looking for a solution considering the vast amount of free resources on the internet already. Also i could set up a question and answer forums rather than the above in an article form. PRO's: The website might give a more professional and honest look if people come and find a solution to their problem, they may return again and if they dont find a solution again they may then consider paying for remote troubleshooting. The people that do look for solutions will most likely have looked elsewhere first before considering a remote pc repair solution. Anyone with a good knowledge of pcs will most likely search the internet until they find the fix rather than paying someone to do this. Having the info there will help add some transparancy to these people and the fact that i have good knowledge in the field may convince them to try the service if they cannot find the solution. A questions and answers forum will help build more search engine results and increase traffic and possibly build a good base for recurring visitors. 2) Have regular updates on viruses, spyware etc I would lean more towards this option if i could auto generate the information from another website. Is this possible for eg norton antivirus website might have an option to display information on my website about viruses in return for an advertisement. Is this possible and if so can you suggest any websites, i have design and programming skills so i can imbed code if needed. There are no cons for this option unless i have to manually update the information. The pros would be again that the search engines would pick up the viruses through keyword searches and people trying to get rid of a virus or spyware etc may consider my service assuming they are not familiar with getting rid of viruses or this is a complicated virus that they cant get rid of such a spy falcon etc Your advices and suggestions would be greatly appreciated but bear in mind that although a combination of both would be the most benificial time is something i wont have an abbundance of so i want the best option, maybe there is another option i havent taught of and if so dont be shy
You could avoid that by not promoting on your regular pages this articles (put only on your pages footer small link text to articles) and, most of all, by promoting your services on the articles pages ("Your problem is still not solved? Make a service request...").
Writing articles sounds great and performs well if you can get high-profile sites to pick up even one. The problem is coming up with great content. Not good: G-R-E-A-T. I've written articles for my site but finally hit a wall. I found I could write an article in under 60 minutes, sometimes 30 if I had the content. The problem is coming up with new content for the same topic. I've heard of writing unrelated articles in hot topics - just make sure your author box has the link to your site. That way your site link gets the exposure.
