Is putting a banner of other site allowed in my blog?

    I would like to add a banner of other site to my blog because in exchange they will do me some favor too but I'm hesitant because I'm afraid I might be banned by adsense. Is it permitted or not? Please help me...

    I hope that banner of yours is not about exchanging traffic because Google hates that.
