Is PRWebs Press Releases worth the prices they ask of: $80 - $120 - $200 - $360 - etc ? Are there any FREE Press Release sites that do as good or better than PRWeb ? Whats your thoughts about them as far as the prices and what you get for it ? I will not be doing a press release on a product etc for sale, mine will be on a website.
Hi, Test it out on free ones first, my advice. And for their URLs, here’s some help…: I try to keep a list of free press release sites updated on my blog here: http://movingaheadblog.com/2007/04/11/list-of-press-release-submission-sites.aspx (you’ll spot an Excel download link where the URLs are further arranged by free versus paid now, etc.). So help yourself to the Excel download. It’s free. The sites change a lot, so some are probably different even now, so stay tuned for the next revised list….coming soon!
I personally will not pay for press release while so many good PR sites are still offering free service.
They will be effective but you have to make sure you have a good press release with a very strong media angle or you will just waste your money.
The free PR networks don't have anything like the coverage of PRWeb, and as far as I know you can't embed multiple anchor text links into the free press releases, the way PRWeb allows. If you know different, please post details on here.
For the simple promotion of a new site, nothing is going to beat PRWeb. You get what you pay for. Free services are great for a few links, but the amount of people reposting PRWeb releases via RSS really makes them worth it. You don't have to pay $360 to get in the PRWeb RSS feed (and Google News, Yahoo News, etc...) - The $80 will do it for you. Shameless plug: Or I can write it and distribute it for you for just $65 (see my signature).
I once issued a press release for a company I was working for and I used 2 paid and about 6 free ones, I changed the text slightly in the first sentence in each release and made a note of which release I sent to which company - PRWEB was the one that had the lowest amount of search finds in google, in fact the free ones were the best - although many of them didnt give a HTML link. I contacted PRweb and they said that they had sent the release to thousands of people in that sector though - so who knows
If you have bloody good stuff at hands - something remarkable, then it MIGHT be worth it, but like some people in this thread, I also think there possibly are some better options to start with..
trial and error is the key.. you wont know til you try. take the plunge and see what happens.. but go for the 80usd service as mentioned before..
you get what you pay for in life, the $360 package gives you some nice PR juice, but as long as your item is GENUINLY NEWSWORTHY, it can bring you tens of thousands of visitors. If you just want PR though, choose that package only.
Subigo, that looks like a great deal you're offering. I assume that's for the basic PRWeb distribution. How much do you charge for writing and distributing on their SEO version - anchor text links etc (PRWeb charges $200 for this) ? PM me if you'd rather not say on here.
Yes, but you also have to take into consideration that those RSS links mostly last a couple of days, around 99% of them do anyway, and are displayed in news boxes on RSS pages and not permanently
