An internal page of your site might gain PR without any links if the domain has a PR but other wise no. PR is made up of a number of factors and while I dont believe links are important as they used to be a few years ago it is still the main factor by a long way.
Is there really any need to be concerned with PR? Just wondering... I have been at a PR2 for the last 2 1/2 years and am making more money from my blog now than I ever had before. Shoot, right out of the gate, when my domain went live, I was at a PR2. Its never changed since then, but my traffic has ballooned 10fold... But, yes, PR is possible without links.
How is PR possible without links? Would it be possible to create a new domain and get some pagerank on it without any links to it? I think this may be confused with "Getting pagerank on a page without external links" where you would link to this page from the domain which already has PR.
I am a complete begginer, so i just wanted to know if i build a good website with some good content without any links whether it will be doing good . Thanks for your comments
1. To know that your website exists on the WWW, Google needs to follow at least a link to reach it. 2. PageRank is a Google index. 1+2-> PageRank without any link doesn't look logical...
Yes, definetly, age your domain like 6 years or 9 years, and keep on content, you get high page rank than that.
Yes, content is one the keys and domain age adds value too, but as I said, you must have somewhere some link to be found by Google.
Yes it is actually and I've seen it. If you are running a Wordpress or Blogger blog, you'll simply need to update it 1-2 times per week for about 6 months in order to gain that PR. Basically you'll be taking advantage of their high PR home page in order to gain PR. To me, there isn't any reason not to add some links though to help your PR and if for no other reason-it should help made your outgoing link from that site more valuable. (Since I am assuming you are asking about finding a way to craft high quality links back to your main site without much work)
What you mean is "If you are running a blog on the WordPress or Blogger site". And in that case, you automatically create backlinks when you create your blog (in their directories).
Benc-Could you be any more nit-picky? Seriously, I'm sure everyone here knows what Wordpress and Blogger are, calling them blogs or sites is simply semantics. The point about links in their directories is a good one, although I'm not sure how applicable that really is as far as link value.
Hi MarkAse, I didn't intend to be nitpicky, so please don't take it like that ;-) I wanted to point out that you were talking about a site hosted on wordpress.com or blogger.com, and not just using the wordpress or the blogger CMS on a hosting of your own. The difference is important, because, in the hosting case, wordpress.com or blogger.com will take care of creating backlinks for you.
Well actually there is! I purchased a domain like 1 year ago, added a simple template and NEVER touched it again, guess what? In the first pagerank update that site, without any links got PR 5 (yeah PageRank Five) Don't want to disclose the site URL in public but if you are interested just PM me
