I see alot of webmasters talk about their PR ... and to them it seems PR is a very important thing .. I don't know how that is good for your traffic .. it's not even inter-related ... if you just ask an average internet user what a PR is ... i doubt if they know .. So why are people still running after their PR ? For me only traffic matters...
Yaa, i think PR is a great assets of any site. so every web master want increases our PR. i also agree with Manan121 it's like certification give by Google.
to me, no! it is proven that a low PR site can outrank a high PR site on certain keyword and i see that all the time. however, it looks good on the toolbar
I couldnt care less about Pagerank. All that I care about is good rankings, traffic and sales, not the length of a little green bar.
PR is important to me for two factors only 1) Most of the time it dictates how much i can sell private advertising for. 2) It allows me to get more relevant link exchanges, when i first started building links webmasters would not even respond to emails because my site had no PR I would definitely not be sad if PR got decommissioned, as the above two points would not be relevant.
It is helpful in very narrow space...but in wider space, in terms of ranking and traffic, it is not important...
PR is nothing for me. why? because visitor will not looking your PR he just want a quick and good services and site should be visitor friendly and other thing is PR doesn't spot you to get ranking on SERPS so my dear friend PR is nothing It's just my opinion.
Dear tsukara, I think here we discuses about importance of PR Not SERP Not many more many thinks wants webmaster, Some want treffic, some want SERP, Some want visitor.....,
I check my sites at the update. If they're going up or staying the same it just means I'm doing something right. If there was a huge, sudden drop, I would try to figure out what I did wrong. Other than as a general indicator of a site's health, I don't really think about it too much.
