I see a million sites now selling links for PR 4, myself included. But I built pretty heavily. I can't sell shyte now for links. Just wondering, is PR 4 the new PR 0?
What if PR4 but with many visitors daily just as PR6/7/8 has? If I buy links, I would prefer visitors over PR because not all visitors came from Google
PR doesn't mean anything anymore. it's better for me as a SEO man to get a link from a related content PR2 website then to get a PR8 non related content one.
Cheers! I also don't look at a site's PR that much. It's the content and quality that's important, after all, and there are sites out there that have low PR but are informational enough.
There is no allure for a PR4 link, except it's a directory category page. You shall promote your page to PR6+, and then sell links. I tried to sell links on my PR4 page also, and finally gave up because nobody was interested. There are millions of PR4 page in the web, who will spend money on it.
agree with you, you cant earn much by selling PR4 links, optimise your site, get a higher PR atleast 5, then you can sell a few links,
As far as i see, only PR5+ links are worth to sell and personally i am only interested with related backlinks.
Google's PageRank will soon be dead IMHO. 10 Completely relevant links on PR2 pages showed a lot more results than did 1 PR6/PR7 link... Look for traffic and organic link building, that means for relevant links. Visitors won't be interested in links to buying an iPod on a gardening site anyway! SO the search engines will certainly tend to more build upon these factors rather than the general authority of a site.
I think that PR4 is more like the new PR2 (i.e. the rank you used to get for a site that is a few months old and has a number of link) so we nearly agree As a couple of others have mentioned, the Google algorithm doesn't seem quite on the money these days. I have a site that was down-graded to PR3 in the last update that gets far more traffic and has far more content than PR4 sites that I have - doesn't seem to make much sense to me! I also think the whole Google approach to links is flawed - what's wrong with selling links, it's only advertising! - Penalising directories and link sellers just seems wrong to me (although I've no evidence that they do). Glad it's not only me who is struggling to sell links!
it should be noted that faking PR is not that hard. There are quite alot of sites out there that claim to be selling - ie a PR 4 site but in the end you just get a site that is shyte and has no PR, no rank or no backlinks. When I buy a PR4 or 5 etc site I make sure I do research into the domain before buying and make sure that the price is not to good to be true. Because if it is I prob means that the site is a fake.
