I really doubt it... anyone can go and look it up anyways... maybe just post a link to the info you want to share to be safe.
Is there any problem with using 'fake' details in your whois info? I've got a few slightly iffy domains that have totally garbage details. I keep the email address real, but the rest is fake (e.g 123 Fake Street ) Any probs doing this?
No, its not illegal. As its available in the public domain anyway. I assume it would be different story if you exposed someones details if they had the domain registered privately.
The email and telephone contacts are all correct. How could I lose the domain? What exactly is the address field used for (other than that stupid snail mail spam)
Id imagine if by chance someone had your same name and lived at the addresses you made up than they may have a case to legally take the dimain from you... though I am sure this is very highly unlikely.
I agree with almost everyone here. There's nothing illegal. But we need to see - you are simply posting it? Or spamming with it somehow...
Whenever u go and check WHOIS they have this written:- The data in this whois database is provided to you for information purposes only, that is, to assist you in obtaining information about or related to a domain name registration record. We make this information available "as is," and do not guarantee its accuracy. By submitting a whois query, you agree that you will use this data only for lawful purposes and that, under no circumstances will you use this data to: (1) enable high volume, automated, electronic processes that stress or load this whois database system providing you this information; or (2) allow, enable, or otherwise support the transmission of mass unsolicited, commercial advertising or solicitations via direct mail, electronic mail, or by telephone. The compilation, repackaging, dissemination or other use of this data is expressly prohibited without prior written consent from us.
Are you planning on posting domain registrar log in information? That might be illegal but my password for godaddy.com is *********.
personally i dont think it is since the information is publicly available anyways, but if you post their details to down-grade them, or for anything that is going to reflect on them in a negative way, then i would steer clear.
I would think its not illigal to post someones WHOIS.... You should ask tis question in the Domain Names area..
