Well... the answer relies heavily on the rules and guidelines of the specific forum. If a forum allows it, I see no reason not to use it. On the other hand I don't know any companies offering this kind of service, but there are many freelancers willing to do this sort of jobs. Hope this one helps you. Best regards, George
I believe you post on forums to ask questions and to help others out. If the forum allows you to have your website in your signature, then that is a benefit of being a member of that forum. Signature traffic can be very beneficial. But it should never be attained by spam.
I recently submitted an article to digg.com to find that my IP address was banned. Its seems rather odd that they would ban an IP address without an offer of explanation. Also, the message I received indicated that the website was on their banned list. I usually submit articles from my own website. Is that too much of self-promotion. Also, I add my article links on comments pertaining to the subject matter of the link. I really don't understand how information that is not objectory or profane ends up being banned. Really, in social bookmarking sites like digg.com; the users should be the ones involved. However, it seems that the management are filtering which articles surface to the front page. Well, it appears that there is alot of internal politics going on when the success of an article is supposed to be solely based on user ratings and feedback. What do you think?
Most forums do allow a signature link that allows your link to be seen by others every time you post, but if your posting nonsense just to get your link shown, then they will bann you for spamming.
Posting comments because you can help someone is fine and dandy. However, be prepared to be labled as referenced by the digg comment. Seems like the digger's view themselves as "purity police" when it comes to article submission. As long as the article or comment submitted is informative, educational and entertaining... you'll always find a listener, a reader and a website visitor.
