Hi Guys, I am contemplating using PLR content for a few sites. Is PLR content effective? I have found plrpro.com and bob bastian's privatelabelpublishing.com... plrpro.com is $97/mth and bob bastians is $17/mth....any reviews and/or recommendations for other sources? thanks jared
PLR is very helpful in giving you a base for writing articles to submit to ezine directories or posting on your site. You have to rewrite them though, because there are hundreds of other people using the same exact content. PLRPro.com is good. I personally know Marc Lindsay, and we talked a few times.
I think it is good when you need some basic knowledge. You should not use full content of PLR. Use the basic idea how the ebook is written and the basic idea. Work around it for some days and put lot of new ideas from your mind in it. Review it day by day to make it more readable and interesting. This way you can get a PLR content transformed to a completely new product. I am also trying to do this ;-)
Most PLR is garbage and reads like it was written by a child. At best, you'd have to rewrite the content to make it original and readable, so why not just write your own or work with what's already out there and available to you for free.
I don't see much point in paying for something I have to re-write. Search Ezine articles and then just put it in your own words. Same concept except it is free.
For me PLR content is very effective if you don't want to write by your own. Usually, when people purchase PLR content, they just think about using it on their site or blog. But PLR content is more than that. You can change it to another format. For examples, for PLR articles you can turn it into an ebook. Or if you want to go even further, you can turn it into an audio files. Just my 2 cents.
PLR content is not ONLY good for websites. There are all kinds of ways that good PLR can be used to your benefit--especially if you are creative. PLR can be used as newsletter content for members of your list (you can even slip in a few affiliate links into the body) without needing to be rewritten though it is certainly advisable to put your own "voice" into the message. PLR can be combined and offered as a "freebie" report to get people to sign up for your list. PLR can be rewritten and turned into an eBook where you can include all sorts of affiliate links as well as links to your own websites. There are plenty of reasons that people would purchase and use PLR articles. Not all of them are related to website content. One great thing about PLR articles is that it saves time researching for relevant information. It is a much quicker job (and cheaper if you hire someone to do it for you) than researching and writing, especially if you aren't all that familiar with a topic and many times has a certain keyword density included in the article already so that you do not have to worry with keywords. Great writers of PLR articles have already researched profitable keywords and are writing for a specific niche that relies on those keywords. Don't discount PLR articles, especially if you can find a talented writer. These articles offer more value to you than you may realize.
Depends on the site you choose. I've not had good experiences with PLR content. The sites I joined had its articles written by authors who consistently butcher the English language.
I'm also interested in looking at PLR sources. Everyone has addressed Jared's first point, but what about his choice of sites? I'm obviously as interested in sources as much as Jared is
I'm not sure about how good PLR articles can be... Sometimes you read a blog with all PLR articles and you can just tell what it is. Make sure you at least re-write a few sentences in each paragraph if you want to do it. Plus you won't get picked up by the SE's if it isn't at least 50% original. Getascript.info has a lot of free PLR articles if you're looking for more... One good thing is it has less traffic, so the articles probably haven't been used by hundreds of sites
PLR content can be incredibly powerful. John and Matt Rhodes of the Simple Cash blog make thousands of it for a long time and make thousands off of it each month. I am just beginning to explore this route myself. Another great source is Nicheology. There are some great PLR sources out there, and there are many great professional writers that sell it as an extra source of income. It is up to you to rewrite it and make it read the way you want it to read, but it will surely take you a lot less time than writing original content.
good ideas above..plus I think PLR can be at least good to start an empty blog with at least something, and when you do have enough PLR on your blog, then start adding orginal articles. someone stated if you have PLR on your site then SE will not pick them up, personally I do not think that is true 100% true, as if you do have orginal content, then everything will get crawled, and then sooner or later indexed at some point, there is always a chance that it will get indexed, and if it does, then that is a plus, and if not, no harm done.
What you need is to rewrite the articles so,it can be rank. There are hundreds of people using that same articles
PRL content i very good source, to make it more effective, you need to have good rewrite skill. It will be much better if your take the point of the article and rewrite it
I think PLR is quite useful. It builds writing skill and style while giving the user a basis for their future content.
PLR is a good cheap way to get content. You'll have to modify them a little but it's a really good base and save a lot of time for people that struggle to write articles.
PRL is a wonderful way to get content on you site. Make sure you rewrite it though as millions of other people will also have the same article on their sites as well.
