I am very carefull selecting link exchange partners - but often I come across websites that place links to websites that can never give a healthy link back - so basically they place one way links, but to relevant sites. And some of them rank well. So do you thins that this could be a separate ranking factor? Links to relevant sites?
It is best if you can get one way links from sites similar to your niche because it's the one that contribute the most.
An interesting question, I came across the idea the other day when someone on DP posted a link to http://www.seo-consultant-services.co.uk/seo-tips.html I am testing it on a couple of pages and so far, simply by adding a nofollow link to a very related resource on to the page, each page has moved up one place in the SERPS (from about position 7 to position 6). More testing is needed but it seems possible it helps.
how you get one way links????? I dont think no one will give link with link back their site..... (except dirs)... I think you are telling 3 way. Its good ... but how can be sure that they will put our link in quality sites.. Mostly they will add your link in link farms...
The anchor text in links on a page contributes to a page's ranking efforts. It's not who you are linking to that helps, it's the fact that the text is in a place of emphasis (anchor text).
It is believed that linking to authority sites in your niche is one way to increase your SERPS and basically your trust ranking. For example, if you have a website about cars, you could provide links to ford, chevy, honda, etc. This would be a benefit to your visitors and shows that your site is one that provides useful information. If you are willing to link to an authority then, to me anyway, it makes a site look less spammy and more of a meaningful resource. Try it out and see if it works for you.
Equally, it is also disbelieved. If you're linking to authority sites anyway, for your users' benefit then it doesn't matter either way
