Exactly, and especially the record labels who have to hire engineers to mix their music for around every $25,000 week.
It is a theft, And a very popular one. For those who don't think it is, look at it this way. You spend hours and weeks of your time to design a good php script or software package, and you try selling it to make money, then you find out someone else is selling your script without your permission, and making the money you should be making. I don't think it would go over well with you. You would probably be pissed. And that would be a theft of your money, your time, and your creativity.
piracy may not REMOVE the orig. however chances are if they did not download it they might have bought it.
no way at all is this the case. Bootleggin started because some people dont like theaters at all. Me personally I dont go at all just because I like to enjoy my films and with all the people laughing and screaming and cell phones ringing all that gets very annoying, And you got kids trying to have sex. It is really a hassle to see a movie for $9 when you gotta put up with sticky floors and loud offensive kids. And I will download anything to see if it descent, And when it comes out to DVD I do buy it. I have over 400+ dvds in my bought collection from ebay. And there was a rapper Tech N9ne He released his whole album for free on the internet the day it came out in stores. He went multi platinum. Ended up on BET, MTV and is making more now due to letting people hear it before they pay for it. It is not wrong to pirate anything If it is for testing purposes and you do intend to buy if it performs to your liking
Piracy is absolutely theft. Someone creates a product, physical or not, and they market this product and sell it. Some one makes that product available for free online without the creators permission, and people begin pirating it. Every one of those downloads is taking a potential sale from the developer. A few idiots will claim that those stealing the data wouldn't have bought it anyway so it isn't really a loss to the developer, but those stealing the data shouldn't be using it at all. It's the same as saying that I can't afford a car, so I'll just take one. It is theft, and if you can't afford it you don't get access to it. That's life.
Well... the copying is an act of stealing intellectual property. A lot of people still think it's ok but certainly not me.
*Blueparukia goes to local Ferrari dealership and takes a Modena - its not theft because I can't afford it!
