    php is all about online application. What's your problem exactly?
    Btw, if you are talking about cross platform apps, java is the best.

    PHP is far more popular than most server side languages.. I like to use a combination of PHP/MySQL and Jquery when building sites. I am not even remotely interested in ASP :)
