Is PageRank worth it?

Is PageRank really worth the time and effort? It doesn't seem to have that much affect on SERPs anymore. Should we focus on building backlinks for traffic?

I don't spend my time on PR. If you're doing your other SEO correctly, page rank will follow.

Google serves a significant amount of search engine traffic, but other sites and search engines that do not consider page rank are in the majority. Spend your time on quality content. There's hundreds of SEO techniques you can use to improve your search engine rankings across the board if you desire.

Don't chase high PR, use the time for something more important(link building for an example).

If you're making money from Paid Reviews and Link Sales, then PageRank is the most importance.
But if you're generating traffic from search engine for Adsense or Affiliate, then PageRank is not important.

I agree with him. While you searching in Google, most of the results are not having high PR so do not worry about that

Yes, link sales thrive on PR. If you are into selling links on your site then PR is your biggest seller.

As i tested it`s look like PR is important yet, when your PR is high you have lower risk of filters and BAN your domain . This is important if you agresively link your site, I`ve tested it on several websites from PR0 to PR4.

I can easily submit 100-150 links/day for domains with PR4 without any risk from google, but if i do it for websites with PR0, I will get a BAN in week or twoo max.

But anyway the time your domain exist is too important, number of backlinks etc.

From what I gather from all the comments, page rank is important but domain age and quality of backlinks are far more important. Correct/

PR is only useful for one thing - selling links to webmasters who don't realise how useless it is!

Many say that PR and SERPs are relying on the same variable (links). Thus, build one = build the other.

PageRank shown in the Toolbar is not the real PR. Google put the real PR confidential.
So it is wise to consider other factors like quality, relevancy of webpage into consideration rather than PR.

True ... unless you're Google-searching highly competitive keywords (for example, real estate). Then you'll find almost all the top ten have high PR. You may be able to offer individual examples otherwise, but for very competitive keywords, the first-page SERPs will be consistently high-PR.

SERP is iportant to get traffic. However, PR is also important because only highh PR website will be considered as "big" website. And visitor always go to big website.
