Ash I don't know if you missed my last post or just ignored it, but can you at least explain why you believe so and show something that can back up your statement? Here is my last post if you're wondering why pagerank is still important http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=2457929&postcount=100 It is that simple.
The problem with you is the same as many evolutionists. You won't face the facts. I have had to many times face the facts and decide I was wrong. But I never state something as fact unless I am positively sure of it and then usually only if research and other pros agree. Unfortunately you won't face the facts. And you won nothing. I got alot of red rep from your pawns but I also get a good number of PMs and IMs about it. And I am actually glad you are argueing. Why? Because those webmasters who will just take someones word for it will not listen to me. They will most likely follow you. I don't want them anyways. But the ones who are interested will/and have contacted me and asked me what makes me so sure PR is not a factor. And as long as in your eyes I am misleading people I am doing EXACTLY what I am here for. BTW DP has a bad name among most seo forums as a bad source of seo information.
Woops, sorry i missed about 5 pages. I only thought there was 1 page and i only read the first page... ill have a read of your post now. EDIT: Hmm i guess your right. But from personal experience i haven't noticed any difference. For example I'm ranked well for a competitive search term and my PR is only 4. There are other sites that have higher PR (PR5, 6, etc) but im still ranked higher then them...
No, it is not that important. Some websites just love to boast around with their high rank but specialists in the field know it is more and more getting a matter of pride. (wonderfully said, Your Content )
Absolutely true. Nobody knows what exactly is like Google's ranking algorithm. They are constantly changing and more than a mere high PR is needed to be at the top of SEPRs, that is for sure.
Pagerank is important but the main thing which u should look out for is more and more Visitors to your site....To get your business well you need visitors as ur customers first and then look out for the Pagerank..... Regards Puneet M
Have you forgotten, viso? You didn't provide any facts. And you're still here and still blathering nonsense, I see. I thought you said you were leaving? In your case, I have no trouble believing that at all. I'm sure it happens several times a day. "Other pros"? LOL I have pawns? Wow... Can you tell me who those are? Blathering nonsense? Primarily because of people like you who won't stop posting nonsense. I also wonder what "most SEO forums" means - your little effort, for example? How many members does it have now, visio? And with so much disdain for this forum, why do you keep showing up here, even after telling us you're leaving the thread?
Almost hurt myself laughing when I read that. Seriously. Ok, aside from the obvious, visio I think you need to pick your "parting shots" and stick with them. You just said this: Which is GREAT! Now go the hell away. Anything and everything you post after a comment like that just proves even more that you are full of crap. BTW, jackass, real nice: Just leave. Seriously. I guarantee that any bad rep will improve with your absence. On your way out, why don't you PM Shawn and tell him how much you appreciate this resource he gives us for free. Go hang at ihelpyou. I bet you and Doug would get along just fine. -Michael
Oh, c'mon now minstrel. He can't even form simple arguments correctly, now you expect him to know grammar and how to use spell check? That's just not fair. Be reasonable. -Michael
page rank does not determine how your page is listed it depends on how many sites are linking to you for example look i have site that i launched it came on top for a search term in a week and that too for a popular term . i did not see the sand box effect as told by many it is still on top for a year now. google has its own rules
I think pagerank is crap. I think it helps a little in serps, but it is pretty worthless. Lets not tell anyone though, I want to keep selling links for pr .
