i guess faster loading sites are better, but do search engines put weight on this? and if so, how can faster loading pages be achieved?
Yes page speed is very important, because still there are many peoples who either uses low speed connection or use mobile phones for internet access. Also a user would always access a website which opens fast and have good functionality.
The question wasn't are page speeds important to surfers but rather are they important to search engines. Â Read this post about it straight from Google. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/04/using-site-speed-in-web-search-ranking.htmlÂ
Extremely important, but as to if search engines put weight on it in all honestly I don't know, but I doubt it as it can change too frequently, they may put weight on page size but again I doubt that because if your server is powerful enough to cope with it then it wouldn't be a problem. How to make your page faster - reduce the amount of queries, keep the amount of records it has to search to a minimum. Reduce the amount & size of the images on the page and most importantly make sure your server is powerful enough to cope with the demand. Don't be a tight a**.
That URL is wrong. Â Here's the correct link: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2010/04/using-site-speed-in-web-search-ranking.html
I am not sure whether search engines attach importance to quick page loading. The page has to load in quick time to enable the visitors to stay for a long time on the blog or the site.
If you consider 1/200 is important, then it is important. I wouldn't concentrate much here as this would not be my highest priority. Only if I have tackled at least 100 factors on SEO, then will proceed to speed. Other than that, I would rather be an average speed group at 70% average.Â
It's also important just to not load a page with graphics and garbage too much. Like we used to when the internet was first created flashy graphics that say under construction were killer on 56k.
Page speed is very important since we need to get the attention of the visitor if your page speed is very slow it can cause of the increase of your bounce rate!
No one likes waiting more than 10 seconds for page to load, right? Choosing the right server location is also importaint, it's affected to the page speed.
Yes, how fast your page loads is important. You can read more about it at the Google Webmaster Guidelines.Â
It is an important factor that google can not miss it. Because they are important variables that affect the site directly. Not simply a matter fast or slow sites. But hosting downtime was a key factor as well.
Well page load speed influence your PR. On the other hand people get annoyed if the loading take too much times. So you should avoid the junk elements from your page which grabs your speed.
Page speed is not important for Search Engines but it helps you in getting high ranking because User like to visit those sites which takes less time to get load. If your site is taking time to get load then your Bounce Rate would be high which will automatically effect your rankings.
hi coolspot, you are right, faster page loading is better for search engine rankings as google (the king of search engines) do take it into consideration to a great extent. well to optimize the speed of your website you check the following things the server where you are hosting your website should not have downtime and also be a fast one. you should optimize the xhtml to w3c standards. should use css instead of tables when designing your website and it should be w3c compliant. (http://www.w3c.org) if you use images then the images should be well optimized. use less images in your website . the points that i did mention will help your website to open faster. if you have any further quarries don't hesitate to contact me. i will try to help you out. kindest, abhishek kundu
Yes! Page speed is also an another important factor in SEO. Page speed can be increased by removing unwanted images from pages, using png images is also a better option.
Search engines are always trying to bring better and faster user experience. No one likes to wait for more than say 10-15 seconds for a page to load (only a few wait for even that longer). So it seems that search engines will give a lot of importance to page speed.
Of course it is important. Who would like to visit a site that loads for more than 10 minutes or more? It will be boring for your visitors and they will surely left your site.
yes it has impact in search engines. if your page takes too long time to load then people will not visit your site. if people do not visit your site then you will loss your page appeal. then you will be many many behind in search results.Â
