Is Page Rank is affected by Redirecting HTTP to HTTPS?

    Can anybody advise why I loose page rank?

    Previously http://www.itmatchonline.com has 2 PR after that we secure our website i.e. we redirected HTTP to HTTTPS and URL became https://www.itmatchonline.com/ and suddenly PR become 0.

    Page rank is affected by redirecting http to https?
    If PR is affected then what are the reason for that?
    What steps required to gain my Page Rank back.
    Eagerly waiting for reply.

    First, you won't see the Pagerank change until there is a "visible pagerank update", or what you see via the Google Toolbar or pagerank check scripts. The real-time Pagerank value is constantly changing behind the scenes so don't worry, during the next update your Pagerank should return if there are no changes in your backlinks or your backlink's backlinks.

    Yes, PR will drop if you have moved from http to https. For search engines (for the PR - its Google) http and https are two different websites. So, Google took https version as a new site and it will need you to fight again for PR.

    However, if you set a 301 redirect from http to https then it is possible that your PR moves to https version only if the PR at http still exists. 301 redirect informs the search engines that the site has permanently moved and all of its ranking and PR should be transferred to new site.
