apparently, sometimes I still get results from overture when trying to use digitalpoints keyword tool... or is it just DP's internal cache?
I agree I think overture is dead. I used it quite abit back in the day. Sad to see it the way it is right now.
Ok guys RIP blah blah... but what do we do now? Is there anything else we can use? Alot of people here depend on this tool... Anybody here has another alternative....????
i currently use the adwords keyword search volume tool. not really accurate since it only shows bars instead of numbers, but i guess that'll have to do.
This one can be an alternative: http://vurr.com/SearchFrequency.aspx not as good as overture though You can also try this one: www.PopularSearches.com There is Google's https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal as well. No numbers, but has bar diagrams, and sugested words.
I have the same problem. May be they want to disable this service? Or they just don't know about the problem. I think it will be better to write to their support and ask to fix it. And refere to this forum. I don't think that they want to close this service, I think this is just a technical problem they don't know about...
Is there any reason to close it? I think it's a great tool to find what keyword is popular for the given business and industry.
I believe a lot of it has to do with the server stress it has, which ultimately leads to higher server bills. If you hadn't noticed, when overture did work, it was freaking slow like none other. If it doesn't close altogether, it may become a paid service... which i would be more than happy to pay for it means faster page loads
I think they should put up the captcha and the problem with load will be fixed in 5 minutes. All these auto tools are just killing it
It would be really nice if google provided an accurate monthly count and figures for search terms similar to the overture tool.
Hey there, I wanted to confirm that YSM's public keyword research tool (formerly known as the Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool- KST) continues to exist today and will continue to exist until we replace it with an improved product. Unfortunately, the responsiveness of this free tool is diminished due to the volume of hits it receives each day, therefore browsers may time out and error pages may appear but it doesn’t mean that this tool has been removed. We do have plans to offer a new public keyword research tool, which would be hosted through Yahoo! and available to our API partners. We plan on making this new tool available later this year. Check out Wordze in my sig link -- The best keyword tool I've ever used. It's like $35 a month and worth every penny. It should keep you going until overture comes back on line.
