Is or Has Youtube been blocked in your Country?

    Hi I am trying to retrieve some data so if you have opened my thread could you please outline:

    Any Websites that have been restricted, or blocked totally in YOUR country!!

    Or if you know of any cases,Youtube does not have to be the only site, any other site may it be political or for any other reason.

    same here, no sites block. But i occasionally notice that paypopup won't load for some reason:S

    i guess they don't like me. lol

    In the UK we are allowed on any website, yes, YouTube has been blocked in some parts of the world.

    I thought everything normal was banned in Yorkshire ;)

    Nah, but nothing is banned here in England, most of England use youtube so it would be a bad thing to ban us off it

    I live in the USA so there are no restrictions, but it's a shame that certain countries block people from
    viewing certain websites.

    No sites are blocked in my country, but I remember YouTube was recently blocked in Pakistan because it had an anti-islamic video. The ban was revoked when YouTube removed the video.

    It was blocked in Pakistan few days ago but I think now its un-blocked.

    I think even UK has small restrictions on what is known as "extreme pornography"

    worpress.com blocked for a long time but opened.
    youtube.com blocked many times and opened
    groups.google.com still blocked.
    geocities.com still blocked.

    It's not that the webmasters ban countries, it is more common that countries ban websites. However, sometimes websites are banned in certain counties because they don't accept these countries as clients or showing adds in theses countries doesn't bring any money, so they ban these countries.

    china has blocked very very much sites including youtube. if you want the list web sites blocked by china, you can find it easily on internet.
